dc5v addressable led tapes are long flexible strands of LEDs that can be controlled individually. They are used in many different projects for decoration, lighting and mood settings.
There are a few different IC chips that can be used in dc5v addressable led strip lights. The most common is the WS2812B which can be found in all kinds of projects like Adafruit and Arduino LED strips. It is the most affordable but has a noticeable voltage drop at the ends which leads to color inconsistency.
Other ICs such as APA102 and HD107S use 4-wire protocol (+, -, signal, clock) which makes them faster to transmit data. They can handle higher PWM speeds and a higher number of LEDs per chip. They are also suitable for battery-powered applications.
